How to use SearchTheQuran's search utility?

System searches the searched-for term in all English translations of Quran.
Following is explaination of each section of the seach area:

Search Box:

Enter the term you wish to search for. For example: zakat

You may enter multiple terms/words to search for.

Search In:

System searches in these translations. You must select at least one for it to work.

It is recommended to select all. Use Check All checkbox.

Also Show From:

By default the results are shown from THE translation where the searched-for term was found.

You may prefer to read a different translation. Select your preferred translation(s) here and system will "also show from" the selected translations. This is understanigly the most confusing part of the search therefore it will be explained further with examples:

Arabic words are translated differently in English by different translators. For example Zakat is Charity in Ahmed Ali's translation, Expend in Arberyy's, Spend in Pikthal's, Religious Tax in Sarwar's translation etc. but Zakat is Zakat in Hilali & Khan's translation. When you search for Zakat it will be found in Hilali & Khan's translation and search-result will show their translations. However, you may like Pikthal's translations or Muadudi's style. Selecting Pikthal and/or Maudi in "Also show from" will always show Pikthal and/or Maududi's translations regardless of where the searched term is found.
